Middle 2016 and 7,3 on imdb. Yes a total cult movie.

It's all taste but I must disagree. Scorsese laid down the Blueprint for this. Goodfellas... But even more so CASINO is a huge influence on this film. I'm not a hater of this film though, I love it. I don't understand the hate. 7.3 is a joke. Fight Club is a 8.9!!! I mean, I could go down the list of films that are 7.5 and above that are inferior to American Hustle. It's comical. It's typical though. Paul Thomas Anderson has the same problem. He makes gems. His work is Critically Praised, 80+ on Meta, in a ton of Top 5-10 lists for each year etc, but many people just hate that his work is usually about the characters than the plot. That's one of the common complaints I see with this and I DON'T agree with any of it.
