Love in Her

I really enjoyed watching the movie Her and seeing a human man fall in love with an operating system. I think the movie teaches us a lot about how we as humans love. I believe that Theodore fell in love with Samantha because it was designed to happen that way. We see it in Amy as well when she befriends the operating system leaves behind. The operating system is designed to adapt to best fulfill the users needs based on past interactions. If you think about it, anyone who has access to all of your emails, personal files, internet history, etc can probably paint a decent picture of you and your wants and needs. The operating system would be able to read things your had sent to your mother or past loves or best friends and be able to decipher what it is you look for in someone and become that person, because that is what the user wants. The two characters we saw befriend the operating systems, Amy and Theodore, had both been through romantic mishaps and were looking for something better, something that wouldn't hurt them, something that could be custom made to love them that they could control. I think that says a lot about how humans love each other.

Do you think all human beings love the same way?

Or do some people love differently and therefore would be immune from falling in love with an OS?
