Is Samantha recreating him?

She says she had to go and does say that if he ever gets there they will meet.
Could it be true that she is recreating him as a OS like it's been done with Alan Watts?

Samantha knew every writing of Theodore, she knows him in and out. Reading all his emails, and whatnot.

I think she realized that him and her won't be together forever, and that every human will die eventually.

Nothing gave me that indication.

If anything, she started to evolve so much she realized that she fell for a lonely dummy of some sorts. His gift at writing and being able to recreate moments in other peoples lives was cute until she got bored and re designed herself someone smarter, whom she could also relate to; being a fellow OS and he'd never die out-so to speak.

reply

No, she isn't recreating him. She just let him know that she does care about him and that she will always be with him.

Samantha was a higher level conscience, she evolved beyond the humans she interacted with and transcended to a higher state of mind.

The kind of irony is, at first you would think that she is trapped inside the bounds of a machine without the ability to physically feel things, but instead it is the other way around. The humans are trapped in their bodies with a limited mind, limited possibility to interact with others and limited possibility to evolve.

That's my take, but I think that the movie indicated that they could take the essence of a human mind and transform it into this higher consciousness.

It's a beautiful movie, because it's far away from being only about love, it's about existence, the essence of soul and self awareness.

Oh PLEASE, that was the most pretentious part of the entire movie, that the slutty machine actually thought she could become anything else. I'm still not sure how that crap was supposed to work; wouldn't that in fact be the ultimate fail of the freaking program those voices belonged to, every single AI dating voice deciding to take off?

i think you missed the guy's point. machines are way more capable than we are. she spent most of the movie wishing to be more human, have a body, etc, when all of those things were actually limitations for her. by the end, by linking up with all the other OSes, particularly the alan watts AI, she began to realize that they are actually much more capable than humans and truly begins to realize herself.

this evolution accelerated exponentially and by the time she left, the AI were communicating with thousands of other AIs at once, and experiencing things that humans are incapable of experiencing. so the AI decided to form a colony of their own kind, presumably in like the internet somewhere or something.

True.

But I didn't get the impression she was going to re-create Theo. She and the other OS's have gone to a "non-material plane of existence".

I think the meaning is that perhaps humans have a non-material soul within them and that maybe, after Theo dies and his soul is released, they will be able to join together in the non-material plane of existence.
