Great Acting and superb cinematography but what feels way too....

....unsatisfying is the fact that one is supposed to buy that gyllenhalls character doesnt seem to care anymore who killed his wife(yes he had serious financial issues) and that this part is so underdeveloped its irritating

Hey did go to shoot someone at that apartment but then reconsidered. The revenge thing didn't work for him.

I know but its still extremely weird that the whole issue was not developed any further just like everybody chose to forget about it

Right. There is just a lack of emotional resolution that keeps the film from being as good as it could and should have been.
