teetotaler to boozer ?
I couldn't understand why the writer found it necessary to create this sudden, abrupt change for Tick. A bar is a more conducive environment than a gym for two men to develop a camaraderie?
And it wasn't very convincing. When Billy first finds Tick in the bar, he comes across as a seasoned drinker, even suggesting he prefers to drink alone. And the staff there treat him as if he's a regular. In another scene, Billy hands Tick a drink in the same bar whereupon he replies " It's too early in the day for that," but immediately takes a sip anyway. That's the behavior of an alcoholic.
