7/10. Here's why / Esta es la razón:

One of the things that make SOUTHPAW so good is that, from the very 1st scene, it makes us care about the characters. The bond that boxer BILLY HOPE, his wife MAUREEN, his daughter LEILA and his entourage share with one another is so believable that I didn't even the see the "The manager isn't a good guy" twist coming (looking back, it was foreshadowed). Script writer Kurt Sutter only succumbs to melodrama a couple of times, and it's never something that Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Oona Lawrence and director Antoine Fuqua can't fix with their talent. In fact, the boxing scenes are not the most intense ones! That being said, it's unoriginal and it should've been 20 minutes shorter. There are certain movie characters who are more of a necessity than a person because of their purpose. HOPPY (a teenager who wants to be a boxer) was clearly meant to be one, but the makers couldn't even get that manipulative ploy right. His death doesn't seem to affect BILLY in the slightest.

Una de las cosas que hacen que REVANCHA sea tan buena es que, desde la 1ra escena, hace que nos importen los personajes. El vínculo que el boxeador BILLY HOPE, su esposa MAUREEN, su hija LEILA y su séquito comparten entre sí es tan creíble que ni siquiera vi venir el giro de «El manager no es un buen tipo» (en retrospectiva, fue presagiado). El guionista Kurt Sutter solo cede ante el melodrama un par de veces y nunca es algo que Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Oona Lawrence y el director Antoine Fuqua no puedan arreglar con su talento. De hecho, ¡las escenas de boxeo no son las más intensas! Habiendo dicho eso, no es original y debería haber sido 20 minutos más corta. Hay ciertos personajes de películas que son más una necesidad que una persona debido a su propósito. Claramente se suponía que HOPPY (un adolescente que quiere ser un boxeador) fuera uno, pero los realizadores ni siquiera pudieron lograr esa táctica manipuladora. Su muerte no parece afectar a BILLY para nada.
