Felt like an adult disney channel movie.
Didn't anyone else get this vibe?
The movie felt like it was made for the disney channel, but for adults instead of kids. I mean it was alright, there were a couple times I was rolling my eyes though. Some of the acting was really bad too, and it might just be because of William Macy being a first time director. I thought Billy Crudup was actually pretty good though.
I was told the music was good, but a lot of it was just too bubblegum for my taste. I really loved the soundtrack for Once, and I know its hard to compare the two because one is had an academy award winning soundtrack, but that music felt real, this music felt forced for the most part.
The kids in the band too looked like they were trying to be in the Jonas Brothers.
I don't know man, It was just a weird movie. Like a mix between we need to talk about kevin, and crazy heart, but not nearly as good as those two movies.
I'm posting this because I saw a lot of praise for this movie on here, and very little criticism, so I think it'd be nice to see it from another side. Any one else share the same views? Do you think I'm wrong? Why?
