Okay, so I know people have different tastes and what one person finds good or beautiful, another may find not so great but ... it seems like today the only movies that get high scores (and yes I know that ratings mean less and less), are those with plots seemingly for 12 years olds and explosions and CG out the butt. Movies like this, where IMO the music alone garners a solid 9, if not more, gets a 7.5. I'm at a loss.

I watched Rudderless because of Billy Crudup, but I haven't liked every movie he's done. This one, I loved. Had to buy it in both digital form and disc form, for the extras. The extra scenes include one that I wish could have been included as an epilogue -- one that lets us see Sam moving along with his life.
7.5 is a very good score on this site. The only movies that have ratings in the 9.0 range are all-time greats. You would put Rudderless up there with The Godfather Part II because it doesn't have CG and explosions?
