Costa Ronin - the evil Russian agent ....

Coincidentally the series, "The Americans" has 5 seasons on Amazon Prime so I began watching it. It's an interesting series, but after a while it gets tedious and gives me a headache because the dark, washed out colors and lack of any reds or yellows. But it is somewhat similar to Homeland in that it is political and about terrorism and spying.

The characters are great, and among them are Costa Ronin who in "The Americans" plays, Oleg Burov, a Russian attache in the Washington D.C. Embassy. This is a great character, and then I realized this was the same guy who plays Yevgeny Gromov, the Russian terrorist in this season's Homeland, who is trying to bring down the US government.

The guy plays a decent Russian in The Americans, and an evil Russian in Homeland, but he does a great job at both. I just though I would point that out.

Additionally, his counterpart in the FBI on "The Americans", Stan Beeman is played by Noah Emmerich, which is also a great role and played superbly. It is too bad that Emmerich is not on Homeland, that would be great.

Both very interesting shows.
