Is this a sequel to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty?

The only time he 'zones out' is after taking a hallucinogen during some type of New Age ritual with the younger couple and a few other random people.

I wondered a lot whether he has had plastic surgery because I found his face so inexpressive (and this was next to Amanda Seyfried!), but maybe he is always like that in realistic comedy-drama. so deadpan and limited. I kept trying to think of someone who might have been better in this, someone more in Naomi Watts' league.
