Such a garbage material totally overrated by critics

I just do not understand how is this boring and tedious film funny, such as highbrow pro film critics mention it. I saw about 20 minutes of it fastforwarding the video player, it was almost unbearable.

Miss Watts's wonderful looks and good performance is about the ONLY acceptable issue here. The music film track is awful, distracting and with no sense whatsoever!....The style choice utterly wrong (classical with mmusic andolin!?). This is *not* funny, neither has bright nor smart dialogs. The rest of the acting is completely forgettable.

I disagree.

First of all, it's not a funny haha film nor is it intended to be. Too many are intended to be that do absolutely nothing for me. This is a little brighter than that.
It's more of a drama with witty elements thrown in...a dramady maybe.
The elements of irony are what worked for me....things such as the older couple being tied to current technology while the younger tended toward older trends that lent itself more to self exploration. There's also different things like feeling like "a kid impersonating an adult" that many people can relate to. Or feeling like one doesn't truly belong with any group in life or someone accepting they haven't lived up to their potential.

I also actually prefer Ben Stiller so much more when he plays it straight. Naomi Watts is always good and always so real. The rest of the cast was also good.
I don't find this to be a great film...but it's certainly enjoyable if one tends to like little films that have recognizable elements that people can relate to.
No special effects, murder or action. Just people trying to muddle through life and find their place in the world.

You fast forwarded through the film yet complain about it? Check out the director before you expect a typical over the top gimmick comedy.

Go away.
Please just.

You seriously thought you had to share this oh so insightful review with the rest of the world? Sheesh...

I like the way you assume that just because you didn't like other people shouldn't like it either. Twat.

I agree with you. This movie is not funny nor entertaining at all to me. I love Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts, but their talents are totally wasted here. I miss the magic touch of Ben Stiller in his golden days. There are no humorous moments whatsoever and whatever efforts that are made to that effect appear so awkward and forced that they make me cringe. Luckily, I checked it out from the library and I didn't have to pay to watch it, LOL. I pity those producers who put in their investments for this forgettable and probably money-losing film.
