Blatnoyd - Polanski...

Ok, I should admit right from the start I haven't fleshed out this idea and it's something I wanted to put on here, see if anyone else connected the 2 or if I'm just way off lol. My feelings will not be hurt. I just found it weird that Blatnoyd(Or just Martin Short himself) looks alot like Roman Polanski in this film. Hair not as long but still, it has that messy, "Out There" look, along with his character. Over time, we've learned more and more about Polanski. Outside of drugging young women and having sex with them. He was also know as a strange man who was known for partying, he liked his Drugs etc... But obviously the tie in with the Occult and Manson, which is a talked about theme in the film, it all just had me curious.

Thoughts?

Yeah I can kinda see that to some degree. Certainly there seem to be a lot of connections (inspiration) between the two movies. Albacore for one. I'll have to think on it more. Not sure there's any other connections and I'm not aware of those facts/rumors concerning Polanski drugging women. I read on the Chinatown thread that someone said the girl self induced. I don't think he's some Bill Cosby monster, but to quote Chinatown " most people never have to face the fact that at the right time and the right place, they're capable of ANYTHING".

I'm about to leave...back to this topic later.

I wouldn't say that. Blatnoyd is a really silly character lol. Plus he was into adult women and coke.

Polanski survived the Holocaust and concentration camp, his pregnant wife got murdered by the Manson family (no clue if he had contact with Manson before but I doubt he was into that). After that he got arrested for sex with a 13 year old girl. Not sure if that is pedophilia or hebephilia (sexual interest in pubescent (early adolescent) individuals, typically ages 11–14) or ephebophilia. He fled to France where the age of consent is 15 and had some more sex with underage actresses there (Nastassja Kinski, 15, their relationship ended at the completion of filming).

Of course in Saudi Arabia you can buy 8 year old girls for two goats, legally marry and have your way with them. If they grow up and want a divorce, daddy keeps the kids. And they are trusted US allies! It's been like that for most of the 100.000 years of our evolution from apes.

Polanski is more like a tragic person. Brilliant and creative but ethically highly questionable. It's not hard to see why he could be troubled or broken.

But he still makes great movies.

Polanski's survival of the Holocaust holds no excuse for his behavior. I don't look at him as a Tragic Figure, not anymore. He purposely drugged GIRLS to take advantage of them. Getting into Political Allies is absolute nonsense. I'm talking about a Man and HIS behavior. He is a creep. A talented man, no doubt, but an absolute creep. He was far more aware of things than you seem to realize.
