Skylodon

Just came here to be annoying with useless trivia: "Skylodon" is not an ancient Greek word, it comes from modern Greek and it means "dogtooth". Not "animal tooth", definitely not "golden animal tooth". Just the tooth of a dog. And the ancient word would be transcribed as "Kynodon".

Maybe so, but the place isn't called "skylodon". It's "Chryskylodon", which, why not? could mean 'golden animal tooth'.

"Golden dog tooth" in that case. I didn't hear the "Chrys" part at all.
