I wanted to like this movie. I really did. Great premise. But what the crap happened?

It floated along as an engaging thriller that looked at the unkind realities of the life of a hitman. We have hints of a secret society with hidden linkage to our protagonist.
Sadly, this tension evaporates when it all culminates into some poor man's Druidic Thunderdome with a payoff/twist that is more confusing than haunting.
