Uh... SOMEBODY owes Jonny Greenwood some money, man.

The musical cue directly following Jay's... verbal assassination of the christian 'bloke' with the guitar could well have been an unreleased, un-used track from Jonny Greenwood's marvellous score to the classic "There Will Be Blood". This JIm Williams even included the purposefully un-rhythmic shakers/percussion.

IT'S THE SAME EXACT THING. Dissonant Strings + poorly played percussion. Greenwood oughtta sue. There's influence, then there's stealing, then there's this.

...I suppose now I'll wait until some cinephile far better versed in everything film replies to this message, telling me i'm a dunderhead - a complete square, and don't know anything about film music, because GREENWOOD'S score was straight-up stealing from a much earlier, much better picture than the comparatively terrible 'blood'.

I'm not saying Greenwood is a rip off, because I enjoy his compositions greatly and feel he's a rather respectable musician as well, but he wears his influences on his sleeve. From Penderecki's entire body of work to Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta. Greenwood is good, but he's not exactly an innovator or distinct in his style. Crumb, Schnittke, etc. The list of similar, earlier composers goes on and on. What he's doing sonically has essentially been the status quo for quartets and chamber music for nearly 80 years... Happy now?
