Who was looking after Jess and Moss?
Especially Moss. After all, he was only twelve.

I was wondering the same thing, the seem to be completely alone. When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...
They seemed just as alone as the animated characters in Charles Schulz' Peanuts. And Moss was a minor. Had Jess been a boy, people would have talked.
sharePerhaps that's true. However, Jess is a female. She's also family. Most people hire older females to babysit in general, or ask family members, male or female. So, even if she wasn't electing to be around Moss for his company, I don't think the age difference or gender difference is strange based on them being alone.
Also, I grew up poor. Both of my parents were off at work a lot, and my mom had two jobs. My sister was around sometimes (though younger than Jess), and sometimes not. To me, it wasn't weird that no one was looking after us after school or in the summer when I was about 12 years old.
Didn't you see the whole film?
JEss lived with her Dad
Moss lived with his grandparents
and Moss is out of school for the summer
shareWhere did we see Jess living with her dad?

There is a scene where the girl is having dinner with her father at their home. There is also a scene of the boy having dinner at his home with his grandparents.
