Grim production that puts you to sleep

Cookie-cutter formula stuff here, but it's Lifetime, so what did I expect? The writing was poor by Lifetime's usually adequate standards. The Generic "Angry Black" characters were on full display. Believable in context to the tragedy, but the writing and performances were silly and transparent. This production seemed to be more interested in racial issues than the Grim Sleeper case. I'm sure they will argue "That is the story" but it's not. It's about a serial killer. Voice Over of killer was ridiculous and cartoony. Cheapened the gravity of the real events. Dreama was solid but her character was annoying. Not the way the real reporter was in interviews, she is also much older than Dreama. Ageism against women is alive and well at Lifetime (A womens' network). Events of what led to the capture of the sleeper were jammed clumsily into the end like an afterthought. Skip this one.

I thought the movie was well done, and if you thought the black actors were angry they had a right to be. The acting was very good.

They had a right to be angry. The killings went on from 1985 for decades. He was not caught until 2010. There was never even news that a serial killer was on the prowl for years. Some people thought he was doing the city a favor by dispatching his victims. Survivor's reports on the killer were not taken seriously. Police work on the case was sloppy at best.

Agreed. It wasn't good at all. Macy Gray was pretty good. And ya trust these fools haven't seen angry nor was that angry in this after school special
