Just watched this movie for the first time, I can tell it will be a "cult comedy" as it's got that Evil Dead, semi low-budget feel about it. I can see why it had that weird feel about it now, it's an attempt at a novel?
I think it's really hard to capture the essence of a book with a high budget movie, let alone what the budget was for this.
I really enjoyed it actually, there were some really cool scenes, and some pretty confusing ones, but it was cool how he took it all in his stride, like it was a normal day or something.
The whole dog thing was hilarious too.
Definitely not a movie for everybody, but I thought it was quality.
