I had no idea what this movie was about when I began ..

Didn't watch the first 5-10 minutes, started where they met Pierce Brosnan, and was sure it would be another of those "family befriends stranger on vacation who turns out to be a manipulative psychokiller" movies.
When Owen Wilson was all of a sudden stuck between the cops and those killing maniacs, after getting the newspaper I was like what the *beep*!?!?
Really intense movie
Kind of disliked that slo-mo scene where the jumped from the rooftop though.
Other than that, great movie :P

Or the United Fruit Company. Ya know, the one who created "Banana Republics" across South America? They poisoned the water, clear cut rainforests, controlled infrastructure and prevented projects that would interfere with business, installed military dictator Carlos Castillo Armas in Guatemala in a coup against a democratically elected president, and (in the mid 2000's, as the renamed "Chiquita" brand) was forced to pay $25 million in restitution to victims of the Colombian AUC (labeled a terrorist group by the Department of State) whom Chiquita had been paying for "protection" from other gangs (some you may recognise, like FARC and ELN) and who also worked as union busters.

Long history of this kind of thing, going back to well before Britain's Opium Wars.

That's kinda funny. I rented it not knowing much about it, and thought the same thing about Brosnan in the beginning. He seemed crazy.

If this movie was your opinion of a action packed great movie I sure feel for you dude. This movie was a joke...if you liked this I'm not sure what you would do if you saw BLOOD DIAMOND! I guess you would PEE YOUR PANTS! HAAAHAHAHHHHH!

I somehow mistakenly thought this movie was about the 2004 Tsunami. I really kept thinking how the first scene was going to be relevant to that story, until the riot started...then it hit me I was watching a totally different movie.

That is my opinion, it is mine and belongs to me, and I own it and what it is, too.

The Impossible with Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts is the tsunami movie you should watch. It's about the 2004 tsunami. It's pretty decent as well.
