Frustratingly bad

The director and the script really knew how to frustrate a viewer. When they were in the worst danger, the kids.. or the mother decide to do something stupid to thicken the melodramatic intensity.

-Kid doesn't stfu about the dropped bear while being chased by gunmen

-Kid tries to hold onto dad while gunmen are near almost killing dad and self

-Kid steps out of bathroom to check on mother while gunmen is trying to bust down door, after being told to stfu.

-Kid asks father to retell birth story at the most unnecessary time "Tell me about the day I was born daddy"
"baby, stfu ok"

-Mother jumps out of well hidden area to "distract" idiot husband attempting a gun takeover, almost gets raped. (I zoned out at this point, started browsing online"

-Kid runs to gunmen while dad is being held, thinking her screams will stop them. Of course they capture her and are now in a worse situation than before.

I hate movies like this, all logic is thrown out the window. You can say they were just "kids", but in less life threatening situations I've seen kids act more mature and self aware.

OH GOD YOU TOOK THE TIME TO TYPE OUT EVERYTHING I AM FEELING! THOSE STUPID KIDS! HOW DOES A WRITER OR DIRECTOR MAKE YOU HATE THOSE IDIOTS!

What I hated most, apart from the things you have mentioned, is how the native people that were helping the American family, were being killed left, right and centre, as though their lives were of no matter.

The whole point in any film is to try and act and make it realistic. The kids actions were realistic.. That's probably what young kids in such an awful situation would do..

Are you kidding? This is all very believable. People make mistakes in life threatening situations. Even you would. All your nitpicks are small potatoes
