Seriously though I think he's just good at what he does. He's been in and out of Thailand for 15 times like he said and he stayed on that same hotel like every foreigner does. He knows his surroundings like the back of his hand. Considering newcomers like the family with 2 very vulnerable kids were able to escape it's not a stretch that an MI6 agent would be able to without anyone slowing him down. Considering he even died in the end makes it really believable than any James Bond movie.
