When did Pacino dropped out of this movie? anyone knows why?

Pacino would have been better than DeNiro in this part, its a shame he dropped out

lol....was talking about how awesome it was...that he was attached on a boxing-site....next day he was gone.....Atleast it's de niro that replaced him....still made me look quite stupid.

I disagree..

De Niro/Pacino....I think either one of those legendary actors would do great in this film...especially De Niro who's very familiar with the boxing genre.

reply

the reason he dropped out from what i heard was he just got too busy on other projects, and he wasnt ready to start filming at there pace.

reply

Either one of them would be good.

But I rather see DeNiro, mostly because I think its a good role for him and considering he hasn't had many good roles in the last decade (Except for maybe 4 roles), I think its a good opportunity for him.

And He definitely know more about the boxing genre..

AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO GIVES A S**T ABOUT THE RULES!!

I know he's in his 80's and formally retired from acting quite a few years ago, but Arcel should have been played by Gene Hackman

Hands of Stone has been around for years. Like the "Gotti" movie, this appears to be a con game. There is no real money here. All they have produced is "one sheets" posters promoting a fictional movie. Pacino dropped out for the same reason he ran fast from Gotti because of the people involved and there was no real money behind the offer. Pacino's agents gave the "producers" ten days to deposit Pacino's fee in escrow and they failed to do so. The same will soon follow with De Niro who at this point in his life needs tons of moolah to support his Tribeca investments and payroll. He would work back to back every day if he could so he accepts every offer. But once he finds out this is a sham, he will flee.

I read that Pacino was really into it, but then they cast Usher as SRL, and Al decided he no longer wanted to be associated with the production.

Can't blame him.

Evidently, he turned away from the casting director, shook his fist and uttered "no mas."

reply

Nice try, but they were both in Righteous Kill

^ Exactly. Which is why he said "no mas."

He probably heard Usher was going to play Sugar Ray Leonard. Then Pacino died of laughter and that is why he wasn't in the movie.

reply

None of you clowns seen 'Raging Bull' ? DeNiro knows what is going on...just wait for the movie already
