Hmmmm the only thing i've seen him in was the faculty and that was years ago....Thought he had given acting up.....He doesn't really look like Leonard(skintone) and haven't seen him with an afro....hope it's just rumors.

Hope they'll bring a boxer to play Leonard....or someone who looks the part.

Umm...Usher's skintone isn't far from Sugar Ray's. Now as far as physical features (which is the most important thing that factors into looking like a person) he's not too far off, but I've never thought to compare the two.

I also thought he was done acting, but I guess not. I'd prefer a different actor but seeing as how I doubt the Leonard role will be that big I guess it doesn't really matter much. I mean he probably won't have much to do. Showboat a little bit, box. I'm sure he'll train for the latter.

Seriously, with so many talented 'hungry' for opportunity actors out there, you couldn't have done an at least half decent search for someone else to bring up the additional caliber of this film?

I am all for Will Smith, Queen Latifah, Mos Def,(these three are in their own league) and then your Common, Ludacris, Tyresse and maybe a handful of other musical artist turned 'actor' but Usher is the same league as Mary J Blige, Nikki Manaj, Macy Gray 'don't quit your day job'!

p.s Erykah Badu is great in Hand of God, amazon series. She has something that can be nurtured into a bigger talent. Check it out.
