He never said 'No Mas.'

The movie description is wrong.

Of course the "No Mas" incident is infamous, but Duran never actually uttered those exact words.

This has been noted by the ref, the cornermen, and even Duran himself.

I wonder if the movie will get it wrong?

The movie's description was written by an 'Anonymous' person NOT the studio...so it holds no merit.

As for the infamous 'No Mas' phrase, You're right... Howard Cosell (the commentator for that certain fight that night) is actually the one who came up with the 'No Mas' phrase but what Duran did was the equivalent of saying 'No Mas' (No More).
In other words, whether Duran uttered that phrase or not,
he still did quit the rematch fight w/ Ray Leonard.

If he didn't say "No mas," what did he say? I saw he was saying something and waiving his hand like he had enough. A lot of guys I know lost respect for him after that.

Doesn't really matter whether or not he actually uttered the words "no mas". The point is Duran quit. And he quit b/c he did not physically or emotionally prepare for that rematch and Leonard was embarrassing him in the ring. In the 7th round in particular, Leonard taunted Duran repeatedly and then would smack him with a jab or right cross. And Duran could do nothing about it. Duran quit rather than continue to suffer the humiliation he was experiencing. He knew it was only going to get worse. And the last person he wanted to deliver that humiliation to him was Ray Leonard.

He does not say "No Mas" in the movie. They actually dodge that pretty smoothly -- the moment where he puts up his hands and walks away is shot from outside the ring, on a crane probably 40' from the ring. Later in the movie, Roberto does say that he didn't say that, but the movie doesn't choose a side as far as what actually happened in the ring. ... In other news, it's an all around pretty good movie. I wish it was actually 15-20mins earlier to flesh out the first hour a little better.
