The tickets sales are going back to the country of Panama, who loaned 3 mil to make this movie. Yeah, in movie money it's not that expensive compared to other movies, but the country (though very modern and beautiful) is still considered a third world country.
shareI would have gone to the theater to see this. Unfortunately "Hands of Stone" has to be the most poorly advertised film ever, because I didn't even know it came out in August! I was waiting for it's release and I just found out it's already came and went. It came out in August. Did anyone know about this, or was it some kind of secret? I'm upset to have missed it, and would have liked to support Panama with that ticket sale. I'm sad to see that it didn't do well, but I think I understand why..

Yeah, I actually saw the trailer only once (and I go to the movies every week) and it was a week before the release. They should have spent a little longer on marketing. I don't know, imo this was a good movie. I mean, the same people who think this movie is crap are the ones who think Pineapple express and hot tub time machine are masterpieces.
