Horror Comedy?
Almost sounds too ridiculous to be true
sharenope, simply a horror film. It looks fantastic.
shareSaw the trailer and it does not look like a comedy. Lot of clown killing kiddies moments.
shareThey already made a decent horror comedy about a Killer Clown.
"Stitches" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2126362/
It was reasonably amusing and can be viewed on Netflix Streaming. Stitches was very cheezy, which was fine, but I'd like to see it done differently. I am like most people, because I hate clowns. There is something very creepy about someone hiding behind a mask or make up, pretending to me something they are not. I don't mind seeing a play, but when they bring out the actors at the end, in full make up to shake your hand as you leave.... CREEEPY!
I've also seen Drive Thru, but that was significantly less amusing to me.

Though I always enjoy seeing a common scene that was in the end of the film, where the victim is invited to a dinner party on behalf of the killer. It's done in Texas Chainsaw, Rocky Horror, Happy Birthday to Me, and others.

BTW, if you know more films that feature this plot device, please add them. I made up this keyword myself and have only included a handful of films I know of.
Back on Topic though, if anybody likes Killer Clown stories, Scary or Die had a decent short story about one. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1833879/
Thanks, I'll have to check those out. I love horror comedies.
I attended a pre screening of Clown, and it was fantastic. Almost everyone attending loved it.
A pre-screening? When and where was that? My son is in it and we haven't heard anything!!!
shareWho does he play?
shareHe's Colton...
shareHa!! You just got caught *beep* Great stuff

This is indeed a freaking HILARIOUS film. Hilariously bad, at points - it definetely has its moments and certainly isn't a throwaway - but also hilariously twisted. I found it funny in the same way I found Wolf Creek 2 to be an absolute riot. Its twisted and effed up but its goddamn funny

Perhaps the funniest thing is that Coulrophobia - fear of clowns - is not recognised by medicine as a real illness. Eli Roth begs to differ

Are people calling this just horror trolling? I laughed my ass off watching this. The characters are similar to Grand Theft Auto stereotype humor characters. They're meant to be like that, and you're supposed to find it funny, which it is. I'd say the setting of the movie is horror, where the actual genre of the movie is dark comedy. So sure, you could call it a horror comedy.
