Could you actually decapitate someoe with a sldegehammer at that angle?

I think because the demon was jerking as hard as it had been, the chain had already torn into it's neck a good way. And then when it did that final lunge, combined with the force of the sledgehammer, I guess it was enough. Plus she'd already sliced its throat open earlier, so it was probably still healing.
