The clown nose....
The father left that clown nose on for FAR too long AND slept in it, really? If anybody has tried on a clown nose in real life then they'll know how damn uncomfortable they are.

That would've been my first warning bell, sleeping with that thing on and waking up and realizing it hadn't fallen off in the middle of the night.

Yeah true unless he was trying to be Patch Adams.
Lose the Game!!!!!!!
The movie wasn't clear on when exactly the wig and nose became a part of his body. But if we assume the costume took effect immediately (or within a couple hours of putting it on), then that would explain why he was fine with leaving the nose on overnight. It wasn't uncomfortable because, by the end of the party, the clown nose had already become a part of his face. That would also explain why it didn't fall off while he was sleeping.
Welcome to Fright Night....for real.
Actually when he sleeps on the couch after his wife leave him, there is a sound of the outfit latching in to his skin.
that's when the skin becomes him, that's what I think
From what I gathered, the demon skin took effect immediately. It seems to be insiduous in the way it consumes the host. This fact is hinted at amply when the dad remarks to mom how he didn't notice that he had been wearing the clown suit even after the party.
I think the film deliberately shows him sleeping with the seemingly uncomfortable costume to underscore how the clown suit isn't what it appears. It's a hint for the viewers. About how the demon skin has been assimilated into his own (or the other way round). That probably explains why he doesn't feel uncomfortable wearing it.
I second that. It's perfectly logical explanation as far logic applies in this movie. :-)
shareYeah I'd have taken it off within minutes but I wonder if the suit had some mildly hypnotic powers that make the wearer keep it on long enough to fuse?
