I agree. What the Karlsson brothers should have done was to take the chest and fill it full of cement,let it harden, and then drop it into a very deep part of the ocean...like in the Marianas Trench. Or sink it into cement under the basement of a huge building.
And why didn't Martin Karlsson ever leave the house? If he had locked the chest, he could have. And how did he never get pegged for taking the kids from the hospital?
I think the reason why Bert said that they had a complicated relationship and why they hadn't talked in a long time is because Bert was angry with Martin for not killing him.
Too many unanswered questions...lol
