A strange question involving (SPOILERS)....

... the dog. Ok, so he ate the clown nose by accident, thinking it was a piece of food. As a result, he turns into a clown-dog, and almost attacks the mom before the man (who's brother once fell under the clown suit's curse) decapitated him. That same man says that once the father eats 5 children (something him and his brother gave into), the suit would come off and he would go back to being a person and not a clown-demon. That said, had the dog eaten 5 children, would he have just been able to regurgitate the nose up and be a regular dog again?

Also, the father made a dramatic physical transformation as a result of the clown suit (chalk white skin, multi-colored hair, even colored blood). The dog didn't seem to make a physical metamorphosis. Granted, it was a darkly shot scene in a semi-lit room, so it would've been hard to tell anyhow. Did anyone notice any changes on the dog, or are we supposed to assume that the dog was (mentally) changing?

I just rented this but haven't watched it yet, so I can't answer.

But your question is based on such an absolutely bizarre premise that I know I'll love this movie!

I'll get back to you when I've seen it.

Can't wait to hear what you think of it!

OK, I'll give a better answer when I finish. I saw about half last night and my Amazon rental expires late tonight.

It's a delightfully freakish film. As far as the dog goes, I've gotten to the part where the mom has isolated him because he's acting weird, but haven't seen him transform yet.

All I can think of is that the dad was possible contaminated much more thoroughly because he wore the suit and the wig for an extended period. The wig actually turned into his real hair. There was a brief scene of fibers from the suit actually "growing" into his skin.

Maybe eating the nose simply isn't as dangerous as the above.

I think it would have had some effect even if the dog had immediately vomited it because the whole costume seems made (from the skin and hair of the original monster) to transform those who come in contact with it.

It was probably due to budgetary constraints. It would have been hard to CGI a demon-clown-dog, or even to create a convincing puppet.

In the scene where the dog attacks the mom and then gets decapitated, he looked very aggressive. I couldn't tell if he really looked different than before, but the mom said "what happened to your face?", so we can assume there was some physical change taking place.

The dog had a white face and a red nose. It was creepy as hell.

I have, since posting this thread, rewatched this movie, and now I see: He was a black(ish) dog that progressively turned white, sort of like a demonic Dalmatian, minus the black spots. Yes, it was creepy as hell.

Maybe instead of children, the dog would have to eat puppies.
