Where were the parents/guardians for:
The bully kid that was left all alone in his house. He's murdered that day, yet his body isn't discovered until later that evening and it's not even his parents it's the clown's wife that finds him.
The boy at the hotel complex roaming around at night by himself
The boy walking around at night in the woods
Several kids in the Chucky Cheese parking lot left unattended, one of which took a ride with a stranger.

These parents must have went to the Charlie Brown parenting academy.

I knoooow, it felt like a cheap plot device to move the plot forward. Like they were lazy to add any conflict with the dead kids parents or something.

The kid at the motel was the one that really struck me. Not only were they neglecting him, but in doing so allowing him to harass their customers.

Chuck E. Cheese is popular for children's birthday parties, so in that instance it may have simply proved too much for the one supervising parent to track down all the kids, if they even remembered who all was in attendance.

Don't forget grandpa bringing Jack back to the place where his psychotic step-son was believed to be hiding out. At least he told Jack to stay near him... Until he sent him up to hide in his room???
