This movie totally sucked.

First off, it took over a half hour to get started. The first half hour was *beep* filler. Then when it did start it was one horrific scene after the other with none of the motivation of anyone making any sense.
There was looting during an earthquake? Why would you put your dying friend on an unstable lift when there was possibility of aftershocks? And as soon as the looters saw the girls their number one mission was catching them and raping them? Were there no other women around? The rapists were also really polite, they all went around a wall to give the rapist privacy before they got their turn. If the fireman was really a criminal why did he spend so much time pretending he was a fireman and helping them when he could just have gotten away? And what was the directors message by not leaving one single person alive after all this? I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of off hand.
What a bunch of crap. Whoever wrote this was just really sadistic. Not entertaining in any way shape or form.

That's what really happened here.

It was either that of carrying him. It seemed like the best choice. Besides, those lifts were made 100 years ago. They survived 3 earthquakes.
And as soon as the looters saw the girls their number one mission was catching them and raping them? Were there no other women around?

They hadn't have sex with a woman for who knows how long. They were horny. Besides, they figured that eventually everything would go back to normal and they would get arrested and sent back to jail, so they just wanted to "have fun". It was either that or looting. But that would be pointless if they went back to jail.
The rapists were also really polite, they all went around a wall to give the rapist privacy before they got their turn.

They weren't being polite. Ramón Llao's character was the leader. Remember when BIFF TANNEN's gang left after he told them to, when he was about to rape LORRAINE?
If the fireman was really a criminal why did he spend so much time pretending he was a fireman and helping them when he could just have gotten away?

He had a better chance at survival with more people around him. Plus, he knew that, eventually, he'd be alone with them and could kill them.
And what was the directors message by not leaving one single person alive after all this?

Lots of horror movies end that way. Besides, the way most characters die (in the most ironic situations and/or seemingly as a punishment for doing something good) is just dark humour.
Whoever wrote this was just really sadistic.

"Whoever"? The script writers are listed here.
