Subtitles?

Okay so this may sound like a dumb question, but were there supposed to be Spanish subtitles (or English subtitles if it was a Spanish movie). Aside from the beginning the languages are like half and half and I just watched it and had to assume what they were saying. I've never seem a movie before use two languages and not have one subtitled (and no you shouldn't have to turn them on, when you turn on subtitles that means for the entire movie). Just curious if they were meant not to be there or if my copy was messed up.

There's a version with English subtitles only and a version with Spanish subtitles only. One is for English-speaking countries and the other for Spanish-speaking countries.

Thanks! Guess I had a copy with neither then. There was one part in Spanish I wanted to know what was said, but I can't remember what part it was now.
