So much potential

I was so engaged by the idea of a natural disaster being the villain in a horror movie, but about halfway through (once the prisoners show up) this movie devolves into an uninteresting and nonsensical thriller. What I’d liked about the stpry up until that point was that the main characters were trying to run to a place (a hospital) and had to deal with whatever obstacles befell them, instead of just mindlessly running from some uninteresting bad guys.

I won't even bring up the unbelievable character switch that takes place near the finale. Blecht!

Oh well. Here's hoping for better when Eli Roth, Guillermo Amoedo, Nicolás López Lorenza Izzo, and Ariel Levy team up again for The Green Inferno later this year.

I'm the Antichrist. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.
