Was anyone else cracking up at the hand scene?

I'm pretty sure it was meant as dark humor, but when the one guy loses his hand, and keeps screaming 'MY HAAAAAND!!!' over and over and you see it getting kicked around and stepped on in the club, and then later when the chick who stuffed it in her purse got it stolen and he started screaming 'MY HAND NOOO' or whatever again. I couldn't stop laughing.

The Hand was the best part of the movie!

If you really think that the scene was funny - rather than horrifying or nauseating, I would take a moment, if I were you, to think about what kind of a person you are. You need to question your value system and examine whether you are a caring person or perhaps you may be a psychopathic sadist. It's just something that I'd want to know about myself. It could be that the things that you find funny would repulse most people. Knowing that could open up a whole world of opportunities for you, as far as career paths. You could go far in the fields of assassination, slaughterhouse work, concentration camp guard, executioner - hey, someone's got to do those jobs and you all sound uniquely qualified.

Comedy is a very narrow field for you, isn't it? How about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmcrreUVBeo

You are right marfrie56...And another thing they wouldn't have found it the least bit funny if it had been a animal?

the applause of men.

I was cracking up hysterically because it was shot so over the top and funny. Then that cleaning lady that gets her head taken off predictably soon after that popping up after the ladder was rather humorous as well.

reply

I guess I must be a psychopathic sadist for laughing at something that was meant to be funny

It was played for laughs. If you couldn't see the humor in that scene, you need to stop watching movies. No, I am not a psychopath, or a sadist. I do not like violence. I cannot stand the sight of blood. I can enjoy a campy, gory action movie, because it isn't real, and I have a sense of humor.

I know I'm a year or 2 late answering this,,I'm just now watching this for the first time as I'm writing this & I must be a total psycho & completely twisted along with quite a few others because I found the hand scene hilarious!

Not really. He was Jewish, so it's ideal to be buried with all the parts of your body. It wasn't like he thought when the disaster was over he'd be able to have his hand reattached (too much time and not proper storage in the meantime).
