If Fred Armisen is from Long Island and Carrie Brownstein is from Seattle what gives them such an affection to Portland? Just curious, I like to know the origin of things.

I believe the series originated from a series of online sketches and that were shot when they were both living in Portland. The city became an aspect of the videos sooner or later.
