Do we think Grandma's coven killed him (maybe he got a vasectomy or something) or do you think it was just a divorce? I think he's dead because otherwise, Katie and Kristi would have mentioned him at some point, or he would have visited Hunter.

But if this is the case. Maybe Granny poos brain-washed their real dad and left him behind and moved her family away from him. So Katie Kristi and Julie could start afresh somewhere else and he would be none the wiser as to their whereabouts.

Yeah, for whatever reason, the coven gets rid of the dudes in their daughters' lives...my guess is he's dead, to get him out of the way. Remember how Granny disapproved of the boyfriend (and eventually killed him, too)
shareThere was a line of dialogue during Gran and Julie's heart to heart talk about Dennis' finances. Not very revealing, but when Julie tells Granny that the girls like Dennis, Gran just replies 'They just miss their father.'
I think sniglet's idea is correct. After all, the whole scheme is run by witches, not warlocks. My guess is that males don't last long in this family, particularly when they can't help produce a male child. All of the talk about the family concerns the women, never the men. Discrimination, plain and simple. Maybe Granny was too much of an Ice Princess to pop out a boy before she dried up.
I am not disagreeing with this theory, but I don't see how killing off all the men would make sense (to them.)
I mean, they don't even give the poor guys a chance! As far as we know, Ice Princess Grandma just had Julie (right???), so IF she did kill of her dad, why do it after just having the one kid?? Did she not even want to try for a boy?
And why kill off Dennis? I know during that conversation Julie and the Grandma had in the girl's room she said she didn't want any other kids, but that doesn't mean she wasn't going to have any. She and Dennis could have still had one, so why kill them off all quick?

Obviouusly Julie has a father but she never talks about him so he was prob killed off after grandma couldn't get him 2 impregnate her with a boy. shareMy understanding is the women don't hate men... but the demon only bothers them when there are men around.
Eg. First Lois tolerates Dennis. Then she only kills him to stop the demon frightening the girls.
One theory I have is that Grandma doesnt want the baby boy sh*t to go down until after she is long gone. She is a little embarassed about it, or doesnt want her direct relations to go through what she expects to happen.
Then again, she seems somewhat insistent about money, and you would think she would be fine with a Micah type.
The men arguably provoke the demons with all their video footage, but Katie refers to it as cyclic, maybe the men are unlucky enough to be around when Toby is angry with grandma ("Where is my end of the bargain?")
