Just Terrific! Watched it Straight Through!

I really don't get it. How come this isn't being raved all over the place? Of course, not being a TV viewer, maybe it is being raved and I never saw that. Watched the DVD of the first 6 episodes and found it fascinating and compelling. I think I've seen all of Ben Whitshaw's film work, but i found The Hour to show him in his very best light. Such a compelling complex character.
All the other acting is terrific. Everyone is very nuanced/multidimensional/complicated/realistic. The writing is responsible for that and what a writer she is! I've library-requested her film Brick Lane and will now see the Iron Lady which I had not heretofore planned to see.

I admit freely to being prejudiced against TV but some of the BBC things I've seen,and definitely THIS -are every bit as good as some of the best films.
