Another fab series SPOILERS

Like the first series, this was a little slow to get going, but well worth sticking with - well-written, fab acting, beautiful period detail, amazing clothes, etc... Peter Capaldi's been an excellent addition to the original cast... As for last night's series finale... I wasn't entirely convinced by McCain suddenly turning himself into a '50s version of Max Clifford and I suspect that, in reality, the BBC at that time would have pulled the plug on that particular edition of "The Hour" as soon as they wheeled out a callgirl. But, putting that to one side, it was tense and I hardly dared to blink - an amazing piece of television..! If they can maintain the quality, I'd love to see another series.

Do you think we will get another series? They've left it open a bit I think.

I enjoyed this series far more than the first, it seemed a lot grittier.

I also thought the 2nd series was better than the first. Enjoyed both though.

I hope there will be another one, but the BBC is a bit erratic when it comes to shows. Even if a show was successful, it doesn't mean we'll get to see more of it.

Do you think Ben Wishaw's character survives?

reply

I really, really hope so. First of all because the character has so much potential, and even though Hector is the leading man, Freddie is undoubtedly the heart of The Hour. More than half of what they tackle, no one would have the balls to go after but him. And also because I do like the love story between him and Bel, although I think a lot of people don't. I was tearing up in the last few minutes. Her anxiety throughout the show was so palpable. Great acting from Garai.

I had seen this before and feared he had died. But I just watched the last episode and he does speak. Of course he could still die but at least he does speak.
