Yes it was honorable and he gained the respect of his father but even his friend's dad absolved him of guilt. Did he not think of his wife and child at all?
I truly felt for them, being backed into a corner in the manner they were but geez louise. It would break his mum's heart yes, but they will heal. If anything their anger will be geared towards the military.
I hated this ending...and i felt SO bad for his wife and baby. They had NO say?!!!
