But is it scary?

I've read the reviews, and what I'm getting is that basically, like the original, it sucks due to sacrificing character development and traditional editing for pretending to shoot it in one continuous take, but its one redeeming quality is apparently the protagonist's cleavage. But is it scary? I don't mean if you found it personally scary, because horror aficionados don't necessarily get scared, but can appreciate the execution of scary scenes. Just, is it scary at all on any level that's worth checking out?

Of course, I could just watch it, but I could also watch something better, so is it worth wasting my bandwidth on?

Reviews are subjective. I didn't think it sucked, and I didn't think it sacrificed character development (it had more than a lot of other recent horror movies I've seen); I also think it's way better than the orginal. Is it scary? I think so.

I thought it did a good job at building tension and suspense. I wasn't exactly scared, but this came closer to actually scaring me than pretty much any other movie has. Of course, when I watched it, I was in a pitch dark room and listening through headphones; that kind of immersion probably helped a lot, since the goal of the movie is to make you see the story through the main character's eyes.

I got scared at some scenes, specially that one in which the lights go out. The realistic acting added to the suspense too.

I taught it was a great movie and I was actually a little scared. My friend hated the ending and the casting choice (father and uncle look to young for main character) but he thought it was a great movie up until the ending.

I also am a film graduate so the whole one take effect they accomplished was really intriguing. Also, I like a movie where after you watch it all you cn go back and watch hidden clues.
