the party scene

This isn't a huge detail, but something I just thought of today that seems a bit notable.

In the first five movies, there's always a party in the last act, and the shit generally hits the fan right after, or sometimes during. While it's not in every horror movie, it's certainly in enough of them outside this series, enough to be a genre trope, and it's definitely a staple in this franchise. They even comment on it in 4, when they're at the film club, "And we all know what comes next." "A party." And then of course they had the Stab-a-thon, then Kirby's after/anti-party, then the real ending at the hospital.

Anyway, my point is that's another thing they subverted, here in 6 the party is in the opening scenes. After that we get other scenes of college life, the group meeting on campus, hanging out with roommates, etc. But the third act, no party, different structure, Gale's attack, subway scene, finale at shrine.

No real point other than pointing it out, I guess since I only thought of it today, and can't recall seeing it mentioned in any other posts, just thought it'd be worth pointing out.
