I found the face reveals from Scream (2022) to be a bit more unexpected, with better-written killer characters, but overall, Scream VI was a better film.
shareI respectfully disagree. In 5, I suspected Amber pretty early on, I guess she just had that look and I was thinking of her from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Richie I didn't really have pegged but he didn't surprise me much.
This one... I didn't see Quinn coming, but feel like I should've. The cop and Ethan I was pretty well set on a little bit before the reveal. I think they were just trying to enjoy the first time of having more than two killers, and having them lined up like that.
Which film is better overall? I'm not settled yet, 6 is still too new for me to feel comfortable giving it a set place in the ranking. Overall I think I liked 5 a bit better. 6 gets points for trying new things, a number of which work for me. But something was missing, something more than just Neve and David. I like the spooky small-town feeling that 5 has thanks to Woodsboro. But, of course, it is essentially a retreat of the original, admittedly by design
