I know it sounds like a strange question.
But I really thought the firstone sucked, it wasnt a fun moving at all.
Thought it was dull and a bit confusing. I barely made it through it.
Is this one more in the spirt of the late 80s early 90s action flicks Sly, Arnold and the others are known for ? Or is it just like the crappy first one?
I really wanted to like this movie. Big fan of every bad JCVD, Stallone, Arnold, Norris flick there is....but this just plain sucked. The only possible redeeming value was the JCVD vs Stallone fight. The rest however....not good at all.

And to answer, no, if you didn't like the first one, I'd sincerely doubt you'd enjoy the second one. That's just silly.
Take my word for it you will enjoy it a hell of alot more, the overall tone of the movie is more consistant than the first which felt too serious at times and had bad humour moments. The second film is the real deal, the camera work is brilliant no shaky cam crap, the humour is more funny, the action more explosive and inventive, the characters more witty. Where the first film fails this one succeds on every level, Stallone himself says this is alot better and hes right, it ticks all the boxes of a manly bad-ass action film. Man I should be a sales man

I was so excited when I heard about the first film but like you I thought it completely sucked but I have heard this was better but everytime I try to watch I just remember how awful the first was and just can't watch it. Hopefully I can get past the disappointment and watch it some day .

shareEX 2 is a big improvement. They got rid of Stallone's boring heavy handed directing, made it more like Michael Bay films. It's kind of a goofy movie, the action is looking very good, much better cast than EX1 and a lot more fan service.
shareThis sequel is what the orignal should have been. The first one was a huge disappointment. It had a boring story, poor dialog, sluggish pacing, was poorly written with a very uneven tone and was badly shot. This one is much more entertaining with a better balance of action and plot, the dialog flows better, the characters are better written, the action set pieces, stunts and choreography are hugely improved with none of that shaky cam s hit and its just an all round improvement with an even stronger cast.
