The Female Expendables

My votes:

1 - Hilary Swank = Sly

Got the boxing/fighting pedigree (Million Dollar Baby and Karate Kid) and is generally in badass roles.

2 - Gina Carano = Jason Statham

Charisma and charm to match the fighting skills.

3 - Ziyi Zhang = Jet Li

Duh.

4 - Michelle Rodgriguez = Terry Crews

Talks too much and acts really, really tough all the time. A callous sense of humor.

5 - Milla Jovovich = Dolph Lundgren

Destructive as all hell.

6 - Kristanna Loken = Randy Couture

Doesn't say much, but can stomp some ass (think T3).

7 - Jodie Foster = Chuck Norris

The aged loner-type who can still kill.

8 - Sigourney Weaver = Bruce Willis

Hardened through the years and only more badass for it. Her dictatorial skills were well on display in Cabin in the Woods.

9 - Linda Hamilton = Arnold

Who better than the woman who took him down?

Who are yours?

I'd really love to see that

Nice picks, all you need is a tub of honey to watch them go at it.

All of them sound good except Jodie foster I've never seen her as a action star and I think Lucy lawless and Angelina Jolie should be thrown in the mix

reply

I'd add Rosario Dawson and Uma Thurman in there.

reply

I vote for this!

reply

I'd like to see Kate Beckinsale as a Jason Statham. She's british after all. All those Underworld flicks? She's a definite action star. I also agree with Angelina Jolie in the mix.

reply

I know a lot of people will disagree, but I would add Jennifer Lawrence. She kicked ass in The Hunger Games.

reply

Good, but I doubt Milla Jovovich would take second fiddle to any female these days.

Cena doesn't overcome any odds. He's a wrestler with a God mode cheat on.

reply

Sly was once like that but he did for these movies, why wouldn't she do the same?

Um....no Cynthia Rothrock? She's the definition of female action star, especially for a franchise like Expendables, which is primarily about the stars of the 80s & 90s.

Oh and what about Michelle Yeoh? She kicked @$$ in Tomorrow Never Dies.

good list. however i too would personally prefer Michelle Yeoh in place of Zhang ZiYi. Michelle and Jet have starred together in some kungfu flicks and both have long successful careers. ZiYi is too young to be considered.

reply

ZiYi is too young to be considered.

lol Liam Hemsworth is even younger than her. At least Zhang Ziyi has a good number of action movies she's been in.

I would still would pick Michelle Yeoh but Zhang Ziyi isn't a bad choice either.

Knawmean?!

If they are going to introduce female expendables Gina Carano would be a good pick thanks to her MMA background. Maybe introduce her as Sylvester Stallone's character's daughter?

reply

No my intent was to have a women-only version of the movie, not to integrate them into the current roid-raging group.

Would they be fighting in honey or jello?

reply

Okay good point, so who is Cynthia's doppleganger?

Uma Thurman hands down should be involved. What about Heather Langenkamp from the old Nightmare on Elm Streets (I'm dead serious)....

Also Cynthia Rothrock no question, and a couple of wildcards, but how about Rachel McLish and/or Laila Ali?

reply

I'm going to go ahead and veto Heather Langenkamp. Now you're just being silly.

I admit that actress I mentioned is a stretch but she was kind of heroine in an immensely popular American horror franchise, in the 80s where only guys were deemed to kick ass. You're being silly for refuting to think outside the box five min.

reply

If it makes you feel any better, I disliked Liam Hemsworth's inclusion (into the male group, obviously) more.
