Better than the first in every way but one

- More and better action scenes
- The entire crew is there this time (No longer the Stallone/Statham show)
- More Arnie and Bruce
- A sense of humor the first one lacked
- Van Damme and Norris

The only complaint with this movie is not enough Jet Li. It's a common complaint but his absence is really felt. Especially his rivalry with Gunner which is my favorite part of the series. I would love a Gunner/Yin Yang spin off.

So yeah overall The Expendables 2 gets it right. It's going to be tough for Part 3 to top this one.

I agree, it sucked that Jet Li was only in it for a few minutes.

Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things: Jack and sh*t and Jack left town

What are you fools talking about? Jet Li was in it the entire movie. Remember he and Stallone started to really like each other toward the end.

Totally agree with you 100%!This is actually the best one of the series,by far.Van Damme and Norris really shined in their scenes.Even the scene with Arnold and Bruce in the car was hilarious too.

A scheduling problem I can forgive them. It's not like they deliberately side-lined him to make way for a noob.

Finally a post I can agree with here. Had to work pretty far down the list but you stated everything that I thought made it better too.

reply

Yeah but Jet Li is pretty much a nobody. He's not Hollywood royalty, he shouldn't even be in it.

reply

Yes liked it way better.

The cast was an improvement over the first one. However, the humor was excessive and at times corny. Seeing this film several times, it felt like a comedy/action. The finale fight with JCVD was brief and disappointing. Sly took control of the fight from the get go and JCVD was capable of more than the final product. The fight against Steve Austin in the first one was better than this one. It was hard to believe that Sly easily beat Van Damme. Chuck Norris should've had a small fight scene for old times sake. His combat scenes were too quick and didn't show his real capabilities.
