Unquestionably the greatest game ever made

I am no full time gamer but I used to game a lot and this has always been my favourite game. It is truly flawless, wow, just brilliant. No game can match anything this game brings to the table.
But I am sure a whole lot of you disagree.

It's definitely up there...

Agreed. Rockstar should partner up with AMC, because "story matters here". L.A. Noire and the GTA series (and maybe also the Fallout games by Bethsoft) are the only ones that really "create" a living world, AND a good story in them. Everything else is just a flashy Hogan's Alley, imo.

We most definitely did not play the same game. There was nothing spectacular about the game. It felt, looked and acted like a really poor port to PC. Sure facial animations were better than most other games but even then I had serious trouble "reading" people that were being interviewed because their faces were pretty much expressionless.

I still remember Rockstar's reaction to players outrage over the decision to not do a port to PC of Red Dead Redemption. They said PC players ought to be really happy since they did release L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3.

LOL! Give me a break. Both games were lukewarmly received by players because they were nothing special and yet we're supposed to be grateful we even got those instead of RDR.

Wow! Thanks, Rockstar. I'll be sure to pre-order GTA V right now because I'm sooooooo grateful. Yeah, right. Don't hold your breath.

Great game, and there's not much like it out there these days which makes it special, but its not without flaws.

What a lovely way to burn...

One of the greater ones I say.

This game had me hooked, the first since GTA III (yeah, I'm not a huge video game buff) and it was good for the most part. My qualm with it is that it was too damn linear and the ending was just bad. Once we get to homicide, things get very very repetitive. Graphics are great; the story/writing is intriguing but not as good as it could have been, definitely needed a good polish.

Yeah, it's up there and seems to be a hit with the non-full time gamers.

Great game indeed. Sucks you in the story. The end just broke my heart.

definitely one of my favourites. also proves that the GTA/Saints Row style of gameplay can offer so much more than the (admittedly very fun) reckless insanity of those games

whether or not it ever gets a sequel, I do hope that the idea of mixing classic point and click adventure/detective elements with the open world style of GTA is used in further projects

Yes it is!
Late at night, I pop in the game just to hang out inside the Mocombo Restaurant on Hollywood and Sycamore. Deeply atmospheric.
