so daphne goes to university

But she is the dumbest girl in the world. Why she tell the nacho guy bay take the fall?
She want more problems for bay?
And then she again get mad. She would better of if she cant talk instead of being deaf.

I hate her so much. And she *beep* up college too. Snapping at her mom? Alienating her roommate? Failing Chem and being like "welp I failed." And we're supposed to like her...why?

That wasn't about being dumb but being too nice and trusting. She learned from it. Not that I m a fan of her

The weird thing is that Daphne was NOT nice and trusting in Season 1. She was street smart. It was Bay that was identified by Zarra as the "hot house flower," whereas Daphne was savvy enough to tell Wilke that he was like "veal" and when he asked if that meant "young and tasty?" Daphne said, "Raised in a box, sheltered from everything."

The writers completely forgot who Daphne is, as a character. In Season 1, one of the coolest things about Daphne was that she wasn't as sheltered and helpless as one might fall into the trap of assuming, because she is deaf.

Daphne was strong and had moxie. Same with Emmett.

At the time, I loved that dichotomy of Season 1. Here, I had expected Bay and Toby to be the ones with some street smarts, and it was really Daphne and Emmett, all along.

Then, the writers threw everything out with the bath water.

I don't know if they didn't remember how they wrote the characters in Season 1, or if they just didn't care anymore. But the writers completely changed Daphne and Emmett. They went from being characters with strength and grace to being weak and ineffectual.

It's a shame. Bay has grit now. At least, there's that.

That's all true. Good post.
