Daphne is such an idiot!

What was she thinking telling Nacho about Bay taking the fall for her??
I thought she was supposed to be smart.

In the first 22 episodes, Daphne is written to be naturally intelligent, someone who excels in school, AND street smart. In Seasons 1-A and 1-B, Daphne was an example of a strong female lead. Her main flaw was that she was perfect in every other way, too, (athletics, social life, etc.) which made her a Mary Sue.

Daphne showed some naivete in Season 1-C with Chef Jeff, but I could believe that was true to her character, because she was a novice in matters of love.

Then, after Season 1-C, Daphne was only written to be smart in school. Daphne lost all of her street-smarts in Season 2 and some of her natural intelligence. Daphne made poor decisions for her own safety with the food truck. She also did not show an understanding of what her former community needed economically. She made mistakes during the uprising at her school, too.

At first, I thought the writers were going to keep Daphne smart, because seriously, how do the writers change that once it has been established? I thought maybe they would just play with Daphne's morals (entertaining a relationship with Noah, when Bay was dating him; not welcoming Bay at Carlton; etc.)

Then, I realized, "No, the writers are really going to re-write Daphne's character and make her lose all of those street-smarts she had in the beginning." It's ridiculous. I cannot believe Daphne made the mistakes that she did with Jace OR Nacho. Neither of those relationships were about love, instead, Daphne just didn't have the smarts to pick up on how those two characters were using her.

Season 1 Daphne would not have let that happen. It's an inconsistency in the character. I would rather the writers have explored Daphne's changing moral code, than to take away her street smarts. Typically, that's something you do not lose, once you have it.

Stephanie is this selfish, self-absorbed, and a completely mettlesome, idiotic character. The first few seasons the show was enjoyable to watch but they are spoiled rotten and the story is unbelievable. The acting is atrocious and I ashamed that I was binge watching such ridiculous and poorly written show.

You know what she was thinking. You just made this thread to pick on her.

While she showed bad judgment, you should be able to understand why she did what she did.

More inane Daphne bashing.

All this feels strange and untrue
And I won't waste a minute without you...

Picking on her? Really?
No, I really don't understand why she told him.
She should have known better.

I don't believe you. I don't believe that any of you can't imagine being in her shoes and not understanding why she did that, however wrong she ended up.

You critics aren't even being judgmental. That would have just made you all holier-than-thou. You just want to pick on her for the joy of bullying. That all just makes mean for the sake of being mean.

Your post doesn't make sense to me.

Here's the dictionary definition of bullying:

use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.
"a local man was bullied into helping them"

Daphne is a fictional character. A way to "bully" fictional characters does not exist, because they do not exist. I cannot influence or intimidate Daphne to do anything, nor would I want to.

I suppose a person could say someone is being "mean" to a fictional character, but I am not trying to offend the character of Daphne or be mean to the people who love her, either. That's not my goal.

Here is my message, which you seem to have missed:

I can understand someone being in Daphne's shoes and doing what she did, but I cannot understand DAPHNE doing that. Why in the world would someone as smart and savvy as Daphne be so stupid as to tell Nacho that Bay had committed perjury and lied under oath to take the fall for what both of them did at that construction site?

Season 1 Daphne would have known that puts Bay into serious jeopardy. That Daphne would not have fallen victim or made herself vulnerable to someone like Nacho. The writers rewrote the character of Daphne between Season 1 and Season 3. She went from street-smart to naive, and I am disappointed about that decision.

I liked and admired Season 1 Daphne. It bothers me that she did things so out-of-character in Seasons 3 and 4. I have a right to write about that disappointment and not be accused of bullying.

The "Switched at Birth" writers did a disservice to all of their characters in the last season. In the beginning, the writing honored the characters and their growth and development. By last season, the authenticity of the characters was sacrificed to service stupid plot points and public service announcements that mean little to the story.

And quit pretending like Daphne decided to tell him on a whim as if they were frivously trading gossip!

I won't let my intelligence be insulted.
