I hope they don't bring up Tank Again..

I don't think I could take it. I try not to get TOO annoyed with Bay, since she was basically pushed into believing she was raped and it was mostly Tank's fault. However, she still could have used her words better to help the situation.

At this point every time they bring up Tank, it just makes me sick to my stomach thinking of how in real life a person's life would be ruined. Bay doesn't get that even if she spoke up now, it wouldn't change anything. People would just say he bullied her into admitting something that wasn't true.

It's frustrating, because on the one hand the show is doing a good job conveying that the word rape isn't one you throw around. It LITERALLY follows you around for the rest of your life. Bay will be embarrassed for a few years. Maybe have a few people gossip about it. However eventually people will move on. Plus, if she moves away no one will ever know what happened to her. Let's not forget that she wasn't ACTUALLY raped. She acts like she's dealing with being violated like an ACTUAL rape victim, but she's dealing with her relationship with Emmit being on the rocks. That's it. However, it's forever on the internet that Tank is a rapist. Future bosses, future landlords, future possible love interests simply have to google his name and it's there. The details won't say "two adults got black out drunk and had sex and can't remember if they wanted it". It will say "so and so raped a female victim". Bay's name is omitted but his is out there.

On the other hand, you've got everyone telling Bay yeah his life is going to suck but he deserves it, HE should have known better, not poor little innocent Bay.

I just don't see them being able to end this storyline in a way that would be satisfying. In reality, nothing can delete what people have already read from their brains. It won't go away. Her saying gee, i'm really really sorry, I should have defended you more isn't going to change a thing. So I wish they'd just let it go.

Ya I agree..I feel like she was easily convinced she was raped because then it would justify her actions and she wouldn't feel bad she cheated on Emmett.
In the real world ppl get drunk and hook up..I don't think they consider that rape.
I didn't like that whole storyline at all..Emmett and bay had enough road blocks already..and to throw in that too..I mean seriously..I really liked them as a couple.

That storyline is what totally ruined this show for me. As a woman, I was actually insulted by it. This show was telling me that if I'm totally drunk and hook up with a guy that's equally as drunk as me, he must have raped me and I'm a victim. Bull!

Women want to be equal to men. We should both suffer the same consequences for our actions. If I did something wrong, then I'm wrong. I'm not the victim just because I'm female.

Same here! I stopped watching for a good year when I got to this storyline. I finally came back to watch it last month and realized i'd not missed much since the final season, which hasn't even aired yet is the last one.

It killed me that Regina wouldn't give someone like Tank the benefit of the doubt, but was totally okay with keeping a fugitive who'd kidnapped his own daughter and gave HIM the benefit of the doubt.
